For prospective students

If you are thinking about a PhD, Masters, or Honours project in criminology with a focus on cyber abuse, ransomware, online financial crime, policing technology, or computational/meta-scientific approaches to criminology, I'd be happy to hear from you. A strong approach typically includes:

  • A short research statement (1–2 pages) outlining the question you'd like to work on and why it matters.
  • Evidence of quantitative training — coursework, a thesis, or independent projects demonstrating that you can carry out empirical research.
  • A sense of how your interests connect with work I am currently doing — see Research and Publications.
Before preparing a full application, please send a short email introducing yourself, your interests, and a draft research statement. That lets us figure out together whether we'd be a good fit.
